I’m a lot of things – but what I’m most proud of is being a mother, a wife, an auntie and an Oglala Lakota. I am grounded in my values, my culture, my family and the lessons life loves to hand me. This is where I am hoping the chaos of my thoughts has a place to land to clear up space in my iPhone notes, a way to slow down and take in everything in a more healthy way, and hopefully a way to find like-minded individuals. Or reconnect with like-minded individuals. It will be a mix of something I’m learning, questioning, leaning into, or unlearning – deep, messy, shallow, hilarious, and sometimes probably a little annoying. I’m not a writer thus why I’m a little rusty, but I’m still rooted. In honor of my Grandmother, Nancy, I’m going to do my best to refrain from swearing up a storm. Although, I think she secretly loved my potty mouth.
